Exist one alternative (not too much popular) but i think is reasonable likely
Novartis sign a new deal. But a new deal where no money goes to MSB, or an amount really not relevant (to mSB) lets say like 25M just for the right to keep going, but demands MSB go ahead and promote new trial (and maybe they are happy to support with some tech or financial help, but again asking MSB his share in this risk stages.
Yes, all upside remain in case of positive result .Than good and big prizes, but just after approved P4 and the commercializartion and safe manufacturing is achieved using maybe 3rd experienced parties.
This possibility maybe is hard to negotiate and probably both sides stay strong but obvious the weakness part is MSB.
Not sure if makes sense. Few weeks ago(when i was still holding) I brought that possibility... of an agreement "grey",... not good not bad...
