You're in the thick of it there! That really does get messy and is definitely an area that needs to be cleaned up in the crypto space. I'm guessing any form of tax doesn't apply until you realise the gain in fiat and would have a $0 cost basis. Maybe NOV could branch out into crypto tax management! Koinly seems good but they would struggle with your predicament
