The big difference between Smartpay and Novatti acquiring is the hardware side of things. From what I can tell, and from reports by Emerald Financial, Novatti's acquiring offering is a digital only service targeting online merchants vs hardware EFTPOS terminals.
Hardware can be a more fickle beast - e.g. Tyro payments, Smartpay and Keycorp (now delisted) vs digital only/digital-first offerings.
They are not really directly comparable IMHO.
