honestly there is only speculation. APRA themselves have only said they have resumed assessing applications from March I think it was. NOV has had its application in since before the COVID suspension, almost two years, so it was assumed that it shouldn’t take to long to assess. However APRA did release a paper noting they have adjusted the requirements taking learnings from recent approvals ie xinja, which failed. Also noting that applications that were already submitted would have this in there favour when being reviewed.
Still it would seem NOV has a sound position in light of these new changes, because they have secure existing revenue streams.
Peter Cook was optimistic in an interview saying he wouldn’t expect it to take APRA much longer than to the end of May and was hoping for April even.
I think worst case the 6 months (APRA claims it takes to review an application I believe) from March would give august. Best case any time before hand.
