As to shorting.

You can always buy a PUT warrant or PUT option in BHP.

Owning a PUT warrant is the same as shorting the stock.

My PUT is UP nearly 80% today (after 3 days) and it's only a pup. Can you easily read into the implications of this for where BHP is headed?

This new decline in BHP will be more savage than you have seen for a while and today was the turning point.

We all need to put emotion aside and look at the fundamentals of what is happening on a global scale and it is not looking good right now.
