When E Sprott left the Kirkland lake board he said he was going to retire. I find it hard to believe he'll totally leave the game and besides, he's still has to manage his investments. If KLA's investment in Novo was, indeed, directly tied to control, a long term district view then maybe it would make sense for KLA to invest in a near term, production capable asset.
If I was ES I'd sell some of my Kirkland share's at the top to buy DEG (at the bottom) with KLA on 50/50 basis. Novo, Sumitomo, KLA and Sprott would control vast area's with synergies. If you ask me Sprott is tired of QH's endless science project. New entity would be a way for him to gain more control while still having access to Novo and KLA technical ability.
