    So. Sanyo is a subsidiary of Panasonic. According to Panasonic's website, the two companies essentially make batteries together.

    Pure, hopeful speculation says that NVX may one day either supply anode material (or patent rights) to Sanyo (and hopefully therefore Panasonic) if Sanyo likes NVX samples.

    Realistically, Tesla will use proven technology for quite a while and NVX anodes or cathodes will need to replicate their performance in Tesla's lab (I'm presuming here) before going into cars sold to the public.

    If Tesla has no ties whatsoever to NVX, then the hype will die down. That is, until another (less hyped) manufacturer makes a deal with NVX. The DPMG ticks a lot of the boxes that companies are looking for (cheap, easy, effective, environmentally friendly.
