Yes, that is a well known story told by Tony Seba in every presentation he does on EV disruption.
I think that McKinsey prediction on battery material demand is also an under estimate, more than likely in 5 years not ten.
I think we are on the steep slope upwards on th S curve, i.e. the Tipping Point'
Once the battery cost falls below $100 and an EV is on price parity, nobody is going to want an ICE car, as they are better in every way.
I have done an estimate of fuel cost comparison here in the UK:
EDF new overnight Tarriff 12:00-08:00am 8 hours @ 8p @Per Kwh. Avg #EV 4mls per Kwh = 2p per mile.
Petrol £5.90 gallon,
EV equiv 295 mpg!
Octopus new night Tarriff 12:30am-04:30am 4 hours @ 5p per Kwh. Avg #EV 4mls per Kwh = 1.25 p per mile.
Petrol £5.90 gallon,
EV equiv 470 mpg!
Home charger gives 7Kwh
so 1 hour will give you about 28 miles
4 hours 112 miles
8 hours 224 miles
