NVX and LGES have now been working on "joint development of artificial graphite anode material that meets LGES’s specifications" for more than 18 month. LGES became the second largest shareholder of NVX 12 months ago.

The initial taste test option of 50,000 tonnes is worth circa US$600,000,000. Nearly one billion AUD. A little bit of prepayment or loan from LGES would get greenfield across the line, and it has been the intention of both parties that the long term supply would come from the phase 2 facility. "The material will be developed at NOVONIX’s current Tennessee-based facilities. Then mass production is expected to start in 2026 from NOVONIX’s proposed United States-based greenfield facility."
