Couldn't agree more, that's why i'm currently holding PEM and OXR. Both have solid long term prospects (more so OXR) but both have obvious take over potential or even to be the take overee (if that's a word).
PEM - there's not too many mid cap companies worth about $1b that have a PE ratio of ~7 AND have just discovered a huge copper deposit
OXR - have got some issues with cost blowouts but nothing that wasn't predicted by senior staff a long time ago and is still very manageable. OXR by itself is a good long term investment, let alone with all the M&A talk surrounding it.
My personal preference is PEM just because i think it is so undervalued due to it following the Zinc price, OXR is more fairly valued at current prices (+$4).
