Where I live there have been closures of some private hospitals as they go broke. Some being taken over by Government. Cutting back on maternity which some say is loss making at a time of reduced birth rates as women wait longer to have children ( I don't know why maternity would be loos making, any ideas?) but increasing joint replacements for older Australians.
