    BHP bids $1.30 for UMC.

    To me, Giralia seems like a wonderful place to redeploy funds from this bid. At the respective share prices, it would be close to a one for one replacement.

    It will be interesting to see if we get a few UMC refugees join us on the GIR thread sometime down the track.
