Honestly I feel anyone using Wisetech today has used the system for 20 years +. In the world of shipping everything is uniformed around the world, Tariffs, port codes, sizes of shipments and incoterms. So building the system yes does take talent in essence has easy reference points. With coding the way it is now I feel SME cleints like us will go and just build our own cheaper version.
A client anywhere in the world will classify a live horse to the tariff code 0101.
The port code for Los Angeles sea shipping is USLGB no matter where you are in the world.

I think outsiders believe Richard is a Guru, really he was just the first to present it the way he has. The system is extremely "Siloed". This means you have to know what you are doing, which is not like systems today outside of this that teach you as you use. If the average non-user logged on they would have no idea how to organise and send a client a shipping quote, let alone leave it in the system for others.
Believe it or not, there were two systems back in the day Wisetech and CyberFreight - now Tradewindow. Nearly identical except one used pretty colours and was cheaper. Guess which one that was?
