What have the state governments done with all the GST largesses?
They have had record income/funding over the last 10 years. Many have reneged on infrastructure spending such as ports, roads etc.
This seems to be the difference between Liberal federal govt and state labor. Liberals put money away in the boom years to pay for bad years, whilst labor have spent it all and to hell with the bad years, someone else will fix it as has happened in the past.
Whilst Kevie boy runs around spending the $22b surplus and wants everyone to think what a wonderful chap he is.
This has nothing to do with world financial crisis as the world economy is only just starting to slow. I cannot think of a country which is classified as being in a technical recession AS YET.
