    They wouldn't do it if there wasn't so much money in it. Harsh sentences don't scare the organisers because you'll never catch them within cooee of illicit drugs.

    Slowly...slowly, it WILL dawn on the law enforcement and government that the war on drugs is a lost cause. The higher the penalty the greater the street price. There are thousands and thousands of young people lining up for a piece of the action. As it becomes obvious that normal work can no longer pay the bills and second and even third jobs are required to have the lifestyle of their parents, the big money in small time dealing begins to look more and more attractive. Always hoping to move up the food chain and a half formed idea of only doing it till they've got some cash.

    I've watched the situation in Australia deteriorate over 30 years basically because the decision makers and armchair experts refuse to take the logical path. I predict another few decades of destruction before they will be dragged kicking and screaming to legalisation. Get the money out of the system.
