if you are apportioning any blame, the first place it starts would be the US president for continuing the withdrawal when the intelligence was clear the Taliban were quickly filling the vacuum left by US forces. Outside of that if you’re referring to the entire combat, it’s a very complex place Afghanistan and it’s not as simple to label it a failure as many are trying to. Some of the work I was a party too, and saw, was making tangible difference to their quality of life. But like any military strategy, nothing is infallible
