It's quite obvious now why Japan's Sumitomo Metal Mining Co walked away from the Solomon Islands. I was clapping at the time but it is not very funny now. There have been so many other nickel miners that have completed drilling in the Solomons never to set up business there. Axiom is just another such miner on the list now. We did at least dig a few holes and piled up some paydirt. Oh well. We live we learn. I was hoping for a good end to the story but alas it seems the corruption in the Solomon Islands is so deep, so corrupt that the only people that they can deal with are the Chinese. Let's see how that one goes, shall we? Goodbye Solomon Islands I hope your back pocket is full.
