I do not remember any reference to AVL looking in Ghana. They are looking at areas close to Zambia and one posting refers to an additional number of blocks possibly being granted close to the Zambia border, but still in the Congo. The target would probably be Zambia copper belt - style deposits. These are huge copper deposits. An example would be EQR which is looking at producing 140,000t/y copper mine in Zambia from a resource of 900Mt of 1% Cu equivilant. Most other Zambian Cu belt deposits have a higher grade than this with some around 3%.
