profit more than doubles Iluka Resources More Than Doubles First-Half Profit to Record
Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Iluka Resources Ltd., the world's biggest miner of zircon, said first-half profit more than doubled, helped by higher prices of the mineral sand used to make glaze for ceramic tiles, sinks and toilets.
Net income rose to A$79.3 million ($60 million) for the six months ended June 30, compared with A$37.3 million a year ago. That compares with the A$76.7 million median estimate of five analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News.
