What's wrong with this picture is that you haven't thought deeply about the nature of 'ownership".

The military has an approved weapon for infantry. Infantry is the most numerous group. So they approve the M16 or SCAR or whatever. So it's 1 weapon for 1 person.

    Same theory for the Police.

Now Joe citizen has a .22 cal that he shoots 25m targets.

With the .22 he can't shoot 200 meter targets so he buys a .270. So now 1 person has 2 rifles. Then he's interested in 1,000m target shooting. .270 is not suitable so he buys a .338. So that's 1 person and 3 rifles. Throw in a clay skeet shotgun and that's 1 person and 4 rifles.

Same can be used for suitable calibers for the size of game a person wants to hunt. A .22 for rabbits is not suitable for Buffalo. And a Buffalo caliber is not suitable for a deer.

So unless you understand the background to responsible hunting and target shooting you tend to knee jerk.

Now all that said, did you see the guys was into religion? Why aren't we banning religion? More destruction and bad has come from religion than anything else in history.

And it still is creating problems.

    Food for thought.
