Yes Wowog, it is great for the game. League has really grown in popularity over the past decade in NZ. Obviously the Warriors have had a hand in its promotion, being grand finalists and mostly very competitive. Union will always be number 1 over there but league has definitely gained a good foothold and at least pegged union back. I'd say there would also be a lot of cross over between the two codes where a lot of league supporters over there are naturally passionate all blacks fans.
The game has also grown a lot in places like Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands, which is where international league should concentrate on developing.
I saw the huge crowds in the streets today welcoming the players. That's a great sign. Could be an enormous weekend for league.
