I am FAR fromand Albanese supporter, absolutely far from it, and have mixed feelings aboutthe proposal to support NRL in PNG, as I do about the WA team, having been a foundation member of the Western Reds.
However, insofar as the PNG proposal isconcerned, believe the benefits outweigh the negatives.
The security issue for Australia is very relevant in view of China's demonstrableaggression in the SCS.
I believe and hope despite the cost this proposal it would receive bi-partisansupport in the long term interests of Australian security which, atm, is quiteexposed.
Make no mistake,China has it’s medium to long term aims to take over our country with itscomparable land mass to its own, with all its riches, to support its eventual800-1b population no matter what the consequences!
Whilst the Albanesegovernment’s largesse in so many areas is misdirected, I feel in the case ofPNG, it is more a strategic move rather than purely another expensive misstep!
PS. The Dragonswill definitely make the top 8 in 2025!
