IMO, an offtake agreement is an important financial marketing tool for funding Stage 2 of the project, nothing more. An offtake agreement at this stage will be so complex that it will do little to get funding to finance NRZ until production begins in about three years time. I do not see it attracting funding to keep NZR alive until production. CRs and small share placements, as is happening, is the way to go.

Also, I believe that any organization offering funding prior to production would be regarded as a creditor, and who would want a potentially nervous creditor hovering over NZR. I just don't think it will happen.

I would like to hear any reasons why an offtake will provide funding prior to the completion Stage 2.

It’s not uncommon for offtake agreements to have an equity component, say a 5-10% stake, which would provide some immediate funding (or are you taking issue with the term funding?)
