Chawkey, Tullow finally took over HDR for $2.02 a share, see below for the oringinal stake by wpl (2001 i think from memory) HDR originally was a 4-5c company, picked up some west african ground, 2d seismic was very positve & then farmed out to WPL through share placment, Tullow then bought out after wpl sold the stake (not sure if was directly to them though) someone else may help



Woodside Petroleum has agreed to take a placement of 10 million ordinary shares in fellow Australian Hardman Resources at a placement price of A$0.70 a share.
The additional shares, to be bought by Woodside Mauritania Investments, will take Woodside's shareholding in Hardman to 10.86%, calculated on the basis that Hardman places 57 million new shares in a current dual-market placement.

Woodside said its placement underscored its confidence in Mauritania as a growth region. It said the Woodside-led joint venture that includes Hardman had drilled three prospects offshore Mauritania and had made two promising discoveries, "increasing Woodside's optimism for the area".




This morning Hardman requested an immediate trading halt to its securities pending completion of the placement of new shares. The placement is being coordinated by the company's brokers Canaccord Capital in the UK and Europe, and Macquarie Equity Capital Markets and Intersuisse in Australia.

The price in Australia has been set at A$0.70 per share and at 24.5 pence for shares issued in the UK and Europe.

Hardman said the funds raised will be utilised for future exploration and development programmes on the company's projects beyond the current drilling programmes, which are adequately funded, and for working capital.
