The problem is you just don't know. You can try and pick trends but when the price drops 12 % in a day and suddenly people buy the banks which I had dumped for more defensive stocks, the future looks uncertain. Sure there is a depression looming with high unemployment, but the market has been rising in the face of these economic dangers. There seems to be an air of optimism and a growing appetite for risk. These are really weird and frightening times.
