You're 100% right, and there are plenty on these threads whinging about buy backs being a scam, wanting higher divs etc. Its all asinine and you should choose a company that suits your needs, not whinging on a forum how you want a particular multibillion dollar company to pay out some more dividends this year cause your SMSF is a bit light and you need some income.
My post wasn't supposed to be a 'yell at the sky, I want this' It was just trying to ascertain if a plan had been outlined, what I want isn't particularly relevant. I have my personal preference as mentioned, but im not going to get pissy at it.
thanks for pointing out that the option had been considered and the board doesn't favour that outcome.
the only other thing ill add, is that by retaining NST shares on the balance sheet, it does throw a lot of risk onto GOR somewhat. If there is a downturn in the gold sector and they do need some funds, fair bet those NST shares will be worth a lot less in that environment. Its not cash.
