It is the first I have heard of gold being bearish this year! I am not sure who you are listening to...
Most experts seem very bullish and some are even predicting $3000usd late 2022. I am not sure about that but $2500 should happen IMO. All rhetoric from the US Fed is saying rates will begin rising in March, which is very close, considering February is a shorter month.
What is happening now appears to be a final push down by central banks on the back of the no rate rise decision early last week, going by your chart it is obvious manipulation and gold is considerably undervalued. It appears Biden is also about to regulate cryptocurrency, which in the past few years has also taken a lot of thunder from precious metals. Wait until that liquidity begins to flow to precious metals again if investment in crypto becomes more difficult or taxed highly. Plus do not discount the safe haven aspect of gold as the Russia/Ukraine crisis deepens.
