Yes there was failure in the aged care system. But as the royal commission pointed out there’s a vast difference between regulated and run. The RC recommended amendments to the act which was passed in 1997, and rightly so. Attempting to lay the blame of Victoria’s ineptitude to handle community transmission from a faulting hotel quarantine is pathetic political gamesmanship.
