The reason that it has since been basically eliminated is that nearly everybody quickly
got vaccinated achieving herd immunity. In the USA for Covid by comparison only low 60s%
have been vaccinated and herd immunity not achieved. Once over 90% of our population
receive their boosters then we will be well on the way of herd immunity for this Covid disease.
