"The fear porn"? ..... well I suppose it depends on what media service you're using, but I certainly wouldn't consider ABC/SBS news "fear porn" as these services only provide the information without spin or judgement..... no "fear porn" on the services I use.
Fear is what the likes of Sky After Dark (SAD) uses when they tell us that everything is hunky dory in Lib governed jurisdictions and everything else is evil and wrong and will result in horror stories of business collapse and neglect of services etc..... exactly the opposite to reality.
So if you refer to "fear porn" bmwgirl, you really need to be specific in saying what media you describe here. Sources of mis- or disinformation cause more outrage and fear than reportage of news.
