Excuse me for seeing the humor around yesterdays news item re Placenta and Umbilical cord found on a Toytown river bank
Police appeal for information after finding evidence of a birth found on banks of Sydney's Cooks River in Earlwood 28May24

I wonder if NSW Cops are considering the possibility that this may be evidence of a "birthing on Country" BoC ?-
after all the Albo Gov has given out grants over $100Million to promote BoC - and burying the placenta "on country" is one of the things the gals are taught to do. Wow what a useful purpose for Ozzie taxpayers money.
I know of a case near me where a small but Gov Grant-Rich ATSI org scored an ALBO Grant of $22.5mill shortly after the Fed election in 2022 in order to build a BoC centre -
nothing definite has happened yet and they now advise it will be 2025 before progress can be reported. This ATSI org assists in approx 90 births per annum. Do the maths for Albo.

Meanwhile we have these other ABC reports from the huge SA electorate of Grey -
Lack of resources in regional SA hospitals force mums to make 'stressful' 650km trip to give birth 24May24
