I Note that the NSW gov had a win in court today in regard to another mining lease dispute involving Nucoal resources(NCR). NCR shareholders got caught up in the icac scandal through no fault of their own , but through the actions of former government ministers like Ian Mcdonald. The shareholders were innocent parties in this, yet the court ruled against nucoal resources, and found that the nsw gov was within its legal rights to cancel the mining lease. I hope this decision doesn't set a precedent and have implications for MEL shareholders. It seems like a conflict of interest to me that the justice department is a government department as is department of minerals/mining. Both depts. answer to the premier mike baird, I hope the judge isn't scared of upsetting his boss if he were to find in favour of the small shareholders....
