There's the problem Raider. Getting the government to commit to something other than coal.
I don't think you can do a half assed version of thorium development. I reckon we should leave that to those that are working on it while we concentrate on the things we actually have.
I certainly encourage the scientific research on thorium and other better nuclear technologies but I don't think we should be focusing on it as an industry at this point.
Instead we should be looking at things like powering the mining industry with renewables and developing a renewable hub in the Pilbara that will support Australian manufacturing of metals, batteries etc.
We have all the ingredients. There is already a large demand and it is only getting bigger. Mining it and value adding by turning it into product thanks to an advantage from cheap, clean local energy .
You know it makes sense.
