It is a con. You could compare it to a lot of woolies specials. They increase the price for a week the put it back to what it was and call it a "special". I was in a garden center recently where the operator was price marking newly arrived stock. He was putting on $49.95, crossing out that price and putting on a price of $39.95 which was his normal price. He had a big sign that said special, save $10. I'm selling the same plant for $29.95. Bunnings price $37.99.
