The plan was to use lockdowns etc until people were able to be vaccinated.
Everyone over 16 has now had ample time to be vaccinated. It's therefore now time to open up. That's the contract Governments entered into with it's citizens.
If some people don't want to re-engage with society that's fine, that is their right. However, these people don't have the right to demand we all be locked down, constrained, and have our freedoms curtailed, because of their personal stance.
It's a virus that kills some people. There's no getting around the fact that some people will die. Stop acting like this is a Liberal issue, take a look around the World, people die during pandemics. Australia has performed exceedingly well when you look at deaths per capita. We held the virus off until the vast majority could be vaccinated, and a weaker variant became the dominant strain.
