I recently posted a PDF attachment with some useful stats from the NSW Quarry Association I think.
The NW Metro Rail link (mix of tunnel and above ground) and WestConnex (mix of tunnels and above ground) will each chew through 1.5-1.7 mill m3 of concrete. These projects are probably each about 25-30 kms long.
I am also aware of some paving quantities for W2B Pac Hwy upgrade north of Coffs to Ballina. Paving on that project is concrete over hard terrain and foamed bitumen topped with asphalt over soft soil (swampy floodplain) terrain. I heard the other day that the major concrete paving contract for Sections 3 & 4 in the south and 10 in the north for a combined paving length of perhaps 50-60 km will chew through about 0.4 mill n3 of concrete.
Km for km rail and road tunnels require a lot more concrete than ground level highways ... the difference is the huge volumes of shotcrete lining for tunnels.
