interesting that transport NSW were not keen on the reloadable cards given it gives them a free float (as EML currently holds on their gift and also other cards and earns a decent interest on that), but I suspect as a govt agency, they would have to provide a lot more time before they could 'take' unused funds and there would have to be very robust processes in place (to chase people) before they took these funds
it is a real shame given the scale of the payments going through the system, but at least it has no impact on their current business
