Police in NSW have long had a terrible reputation. And they aren't improving.
From the beginning the Rum Corps was corrupt. It carried this through to Roger Rogerson.
Now the policeman son of an ex premier was found guilty of fabricating evidence putting a man in jail. This "verballing" has been happening for years. Fortunately on this occasion there was a tape to save the innocent man.
But the corrupt policeman was not punished for abusing his position of trust.
This week they came up with the ridiculous protection of an anti semetic mob, despite clear recordings they are found not to have chanted "gas the Jews". The only arrest at the riot was of a lone Jew. The Brown Shirts couldn't have done better.
