Labs did the same in NSW... the leaders after Carr were truly the dregs of the most ambitious, but all the smart ones carefully avoided any suggestion of nominating.... they knew the stench was rotting the economy. KK was of course the last.
its been 12 years almost of Lib Gov and their stench is filling Macquarie St.... so who better to hand over a state with less revenue in dollar terms than when it took office after all the privatisations, and greater, less well-ordered bureaucracy run by 'privatised' bureaucrats who, like the out-sourced consultants that Morrison mob were famed for, earn top whack instead of a public service wage.
so yeh... they'll expect him to lose to Labs so the party can refresh, allow all the allegations and ICAC business to be in the distant past.... then it'll be their turn again.
