Barilaro is apparently very presentable for the Inquiry..... playing the innocent victim of a journalistic lynch mob.... no doubt he'll soon accuse a patsy if he can come up with a credible story. he's sharp and imo cunning. a common trait among pollies shared with a number of similar professions.
thanks for responding guys..... this story should keep up to date. the RW want to make out there's only one villain in Aus politics and its their fave whipping boy. well, I thought Perrottet was shaping up pretty well as replacement for Gladys, but as you've been saying for yonks, the P boy is suss as. hoodwinked by that soft voice and (apparently) empathic observation and quick to support the community.
but y'see JC, I'd forgotten the debacles, the privatisations, lets never leave Newcastle Port out of the discussion either - the leasing of the Port to Chinese investment consortium is as prominent as the Port of Darwin or other sites.....

Mr Barilaro flatly rejected any suggestion he fast-tracked a cabinet submission about trade roles so he could apply for one.
The cabinet submission, which would have transformed trade roles into ministerial appointments, was proposed and passed in seven working days.
NSW Shadow Treasurer Daniel Mookhey, one of the members of the inquiry, argued the change was rushed through in September because he knew then-NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian would have to resign in October as a result of ongoing ICAC questioning for an unrelated matter.
