I don't think you can deny class heirachies. It's something which is manifests itself even in today's vain attempts to use equity to artificially level the playing field.
Simple examples are how fringe groups race to hero totems based on gender, colour, etc. We still exhalt and reward warrior leaders, the ones who lead the flock.
