Gday D/R, Thing it is bit of a reaction to the political reconsidereation in NSW. Looks like they cant afford this, paying 6 times the coal genreated wholesale price to little solar generators for electricity. However it should be said that this is the same price received by the wind farms I drive by, usually not generating/idle. They are paying much more in total to them. The wind farm owners are on a goldmine, because if the propellors are not generating electricity they can sell gas fired turbine power into the grid for the same price and they clean up.
With power prices in NSW going through the roof as the Bankrupt ALp govt tarts up the capital bled NSW power grid for sale. If it was a private sector operation they would be up for charges of fraudulent misrepresentation.
That said there should still be plenty of incentive for us ordinary people to give the Govt power supply the flick with some solar. Solar hot water not affected?
Might be a bit of a rush to get one in on the current scheme before they back off.
