The greenies are getting better organized, funded and nasty in their ways.

They have found success in swinging public opinion (no matter how ill-informed or if blatant lies), and then leveraging this to scare/sway politicians.

Similar article was in the AFR. Like their “white elephant” report, they obviously have a media team who disseminate this as press reports to the major media outlets to get as much public coverage as possible.
