The NT government is on the brink of making a substantial announcement about the future of the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct.
The NT News understands an announcement is expected within days about how Middle Arm will be developed and the scope and nature of the industries that will be developed there.
This publication has been told that Fortescue Future Industries and Tivan are two of the five companies anticipated to make up the initial East Arm development.
Reports have emerged in Darwin business circles that SunCable could also be an anchor tenant at the site.
The Commonwealth government has committed $1.5bn to the Middle Arm development.
The MASDP is 1500 hectares of industrial land designed to drive industry, exports, job creation and population growth.
It has long been earmarked for industrial development, despite pressure from environmentalists who want to retain the area as wilderness.
