A number of posters and comentators seem to be concerned with the proposed policies of the NT Government opposition. It would appear that most of these people have appeared to discounted the fact the Northern Terrritory Government is a government of a Territory not a State.

Why is this important? It is important because the Federal Government can introduce legislation that CAN over rule Territory Government legislation. A recent example being the NT euthanasia which was over ridden with Federal legislation.

Let's see what is important to the Federal Government when it faces gas shortages on the east coast and the subsequent job losses. If the Federal feels that it is important to get gas to the east coast then the policies of a NT Government may be irrelevant.
