I am not against EQT as such.

But from what I can gather, your strategy seems to be to partially use well-managed LIC's (preferably buying at a discount) to be the 'ballast' of your portfolio (ie ready made good quality portfolio to give you exposure to equities, and make what the market has to give, plus a bit more due to the sheer quality of the underlying portfolios of AUI, DUI etc).

This gives you the the time you need to thoroughly research and pick your 'individual' choices, where you can make your big bets. But I wouldnt necessarily include the likes of EQT as first cab of the rank here. I am thinking more about the TOL's the WOW's etc
