The North Korean's will not launch a nuclear attack upon the south and/or the Americans for a number of reasons.
Firstly, they do not possess a nuclear weapon in the sense that we know nuclear weapons. At best, North Korea possesses something of a small or strategic weapon if that.
The other reason is because the North Koreans know that should they use what they call a nuclear weapon against the south, there will be no more North Korea. Pretty simple really.
Any use a nuclear weapon by the north against the south, will invoke a full retaliatory strike by the US against the North and North Korea would cease to be......at least as we know it. In short, it would be laid to waste.
The Chinese fear this more than anything else as the Chinese do not want a flood of refugees over their common boarder with the north.
The Chinese, I have no doubt would be bringing pressure against the north to limit any response if there is any response at all to these military exercises.
The North Korean leadership is notorious for chest thumping.
Thump your chest you may, but deliver at nuke at your own peril North Korea. It would be the end of the North Korean regime and they know it.
