"This guy knows how to move share prices in the right direction and has impressive contacts" – yep... you nailed it. He has exactly one job to do: get some majors involved, then promote the hell out of the stock to the general public to get some upward movement for the first movers. He does it extremely well. Good luck to you if you can read his moves in advance because you can profit handsomely from it. But the company is only a vehicle for moving the share price. Having him on board says nothing about the standard of management, the business model, or the underlying product. Don't fall in love with any of that.
