The answers to bizzy-body's questions are in recent announcements.
The shafts have been upgraded from wooden supports (a relic of bizzy's time, that were rotting in the ground) to rockbolts which allow more room for the machinary to drive up and down the shaft. At last report they were what? 500m or 600m of shaft upgraded with rockbolts to enable machines up and down the shaft.
The scale of bizzy's mining operations have rotted and are forgotten - the real miners are on the job now.
