What does the Ntui-Mankim road project have to do with ANS?

Directly, not much, this road heads north from Yaounde.
However it is interesting that CR20 is on the ground there doing the work.

If you remember, this is the same company that ANS signed an MOU with.
(And not a competing company that was falsely linked to ANS in a recent uncontrollable excitement episode).

With CR20 already on the ground doing other projects in Cameroon, this only bodes well for the ANS Consortium aiming to exploit the Mbalam/Nabeba/Avima region.

Ntui-Mankim road: the Chinese China Railway relaunches the works withdrawn from the Portuguese Elevolution

(Business in Cameroon) - After its award last November, the China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation (CR20) is now on site to relaunch the road works of lot 2 A Ntui-Ndjolé (60 km) including 73 km of municipal roads and lot 2 B, Ndjolé - Mankim (36.7 km).

According to an information note published on February 22 by the Ministry of Public Works (Mintp), project owner, the Chinese company is on the ground. To date, the progress rate is estimated at 1.152% for the first batch and less than 1% for the second batch. According to the Mintp, the studies formerly carried out by the Portuguese company Elevolution, whose contract was terminated on October 4, 2019, for default, have already been made available to CR20.

The topographical components, pavements, hydraulic structures and engineering structures are expected from the company. With regard to the production of aggregates (commissioning of the Yalongo quarry) CR20 carried out visual surveys of the rock mass and compliance studies are awaited. Also, the Chinese company has already received a start-up advance of nearly 11.8 billion FCFA. The overall market is valued at around 60 billion FCFA. The works must be delivered in 24 months.

The development of the Ntui-Mankim section is part of the Batchenga – Ntui – Yoko – Tibati – Ngaoundéré road. It is part of the strategy for modernization and upgrading of economic development support sectors adopted by the State of Cameroon. This strategy aims to set up a transport system allowing the reduction of transport costs, the development of trade and the integration of regional economies.

The construction of this road will thus reduce the travel time between the center of the country and the north. This infrastructure will consolidate the country's transit function, as it opens onto Chad.

    YMMV
